My friend Gabi saw some of my work and asked me to create a picture of her - this is the result.
90% done in Illustrator - had intended to do all of it in this but unfortunately my save file messed up and refused to open when I only had the hair left to do. Thankfully I was still able to open the file in photoshop, however it was now a flattened image and I couldn't edit individual layers (annoying).
So 10% is photoshop work, namely the hair and a few small details.
No airbrushing, all drawn using shapes with the pen tool. Smooth skin tones were created using blurring and masks, the sky was part gradient mesh with shapes added on top.
